About the instructor:
Sian Michael grew up in Ashburnham, MA, where she graduated from Oakmont Regional High School and then later from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She earned her degree in Music with a concentration in Piano Performance, with additional studies in percussion. As a versatile performer and musician, she has been selected to play in classical recitals, jazz ensembles, theater productions, along with singing as a soprano in choirs. Sian has previously worked with the Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Hanover Theatre and Conservatory. Her past performances have taken place at the Hatch Shell in Boston, MA and Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA. Recently, she performed in a summer chamber group at the Groton Hill Music Center. Before pursuing music in college, she studied there for 8 years under Eric Kamen. Additionally, her mentors include Monica Tessitore, Nadine Shank, Jacob Hiser, and Edwin Tree. Sian currently works with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. While she teaches privately, she is always looking for the next performance!
